Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect
We collect account information such as email address, date of birth, password hash, Second Life username, avatar UUID, display name, profile details, preferences, photos or photo URLs, likes, matches, messages, blocks, reports, Premium membership records, Linden-dollar payment records, verification records, and moderation history.
2. Security and anti-abuse data
For security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and ban-evasion enforcement, SL Connections records public IP addresses used for successful account registration and login. Staff access to IP history is limited to administrative moderation tools. IP addresses may be blocked when there is a documented security or abuse reason.
3. How we use information
We use data to create and authenticate accounts, operate discovery and matching, deliver messages, verify Second Life avatars, provide Premium features, process and reconcile in-world payments, respond to reports, enforce rules, prevent fraud and ban evasion, troubleshoot the service, and maintain audit records.
4. Information visible to other residents
Published profile information may be visible to other SL Connections users according to your profile and privacy settings. Email addresses, password hashes, IP history, staff notes, payment audit data, and internal moderation records are not part of public profiles.
5. Service providers
SL Connections uses infrastructure providers to host the website and database. Those providers process information as necessary to deliver their services. Before public launch, this section should be updated with the current provider list and any required processor disclosures.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain account and transaction history, investigate abuse, enforce bans, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Security and moderation records may be retained after account closure when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or ban evasion.
7. Your choices and requests
You may update many profile fields through your account. Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about certain processing. Requests can be sent to support@slhearts.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Sale and targeted advertising
The current SL Connections build does not implement the sale of personal data or third-party targeted advertising. If that changes, this policy and any legally required opt-out mechanisms must be updated before the change is deployed.
9. Age restriction
SL Connections is restricted to adults age 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit accounts for minors.
10. Security
We use measures such as hashed passwords, signed session cookies, restricted staff tools, avatar verification, and audit logs. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Second Life data
SL Connections is a third-party service independent of Linden Lab. Information submitted to or collected by SL Connections is governed by this Privacy Policy, while your use of Second Life remains governed by Linden Lab's policies.
